Your Story
Where do you fit in
What is your story?
We all have unique histories, written into the sculpture of our bodies and the expression of our voices. And what brought you here - to the meeting of voice with body - has probably been a journey unique to you. What brought me here was a passion for vocal excellence, mixed with a preference for the intellect, nurtured within a culture that prizes mind over body. Sound familiar? Yoga was my gateway into embodiment, and when I began to bring voice into the equation, everything changed for me.
Maybe you’ve also glimpsed an alternative. The old ways we’ve tended to think about the voice, and the old ways of teaching, are shifting. The time has come to embrace a holistic way of thinking about the voice - one that honours the deep psychological and physiological importance of sound, both individually and collectively - one that contributes to a reimagining of how we can be gentler to ourselves, our communities, our earth.
Let’s challenge our pre-conceptions about voice. Let’s bring to light all those judgements we internalised as kids, let’s question them, and subvert them. Let’s reignite our capacity to play!
Let’s welcome authentic voices that convey the depth of human experience. Let’s unlock a broader conception of who we can, and want, to be - while learning to be present with who we are now.
We have the opportunity to write a new story. What will yours become?

“The Embodied Voice does what it says on the tin, connecting your body to your voice, as one whole expressive organism, and Kate is a wonderful facilitator of this practice.”

You And Your Voice
Are you dissatisfied with your vocal ability?
Singing doesn’t always feel free and easy - you suspect that known (and unknown) tensions are getting in the way.
Are you feeling disconnected to your body and/or voice?
Your voice feels trapped in your throat, and you’re not sure how to get in touch with your body or the ground.
Are you lacking confidence to sing out and move your body?
Fear of judgment from others or yourself is keeping you small and quiet, narrowing your range of expression.
Are you a singer driven for perfection?
Are you a pusher, a striver, an achiever, seeking control and mastery over your voice? Is your search for “the right” sound leading you to more anxiety and restriction?
